Every piece, photographed.
The installation photography held in our own portfolio documents, piece by piece. Each photograph links to where that piece was published, so nothing here has to be taken on our word.
The work, piece by piece.
Reproduced as they were archived. The caption names the piece, and the link under it goes to that piece’s own published post or film — not to a general feed. One image is archive only: it was never published anywhere, so we say so rather than send you to something else.

Where it came from.
Before MuArts had a catalogue it had festivals: Music Tech Fest, CTM Berlin, and the research performances made with Neurobios and the university. These are the pieces the rest grew out of. They predate our Instagram, so the public record is elsewhere — ZKM Karlsruhe lists MuArts on the Synchronica team at #MTFLabs, 2018, and UT Austin Portugal reports the MusicBricks award at Music Tech Fest Scandinavia, 2015, for a two-performer piece driven by gesture sensors and an EEG headset.

On film.
Four pieces that exist as film as well as installation. Full-length films per piece on request.

TRANS-LATE and UNVEIL.
Two formats we programme ourselves rather than supply. TRANS-LATE is the festival we built at Village Underground in Lisbon on 28 September 2019: talks, an immersive sound journey, interactive yoga, a tasting and a neurofeedback room, with the performers wearing sensors and their readings running on the wall behind them. UNVEIL is the club night we make with Vallechi and Artur Caleres — thermal cameras on the room, the Voxel Cube turning the DJ sets into a live heat map, and the floor’s own movement projected across the club wall. Its first edition, The Heat, ran in Beato, Lisbon, on 22 February 2025 and sold out both ticket releases.

In the press.
Where the work has been written about, hosted or catalogued by someone other than us. Opened and checked in October 2026. The pieces made before 2018 predate our Instagram, so for those this is the whole public record.
The feature on the Voxel Cube with Carlotta Premazzi: an installation that turns the artist’s state into image and sound while she performs.
The Philosopher’s Roundtable: social impact and ethics in AI
The festival’s own programme lists Francisco Marques Teixeira, “a neuroscientist and neurotechnologist applying technologies to health and self-knowledge”, on the Garden Porto panel with Fernanda Torre, Joanna Hir and Joana Lacerda.
Residency by MuLabs & Modern Mantra
The public record of our own artist residency, 26–31 January 2023, built around the Voxel Cube, with Cláudia Lorena Garcia, Luís Anjos, David Negrão and Carlotta Premazzi.
Alpha Wave Experience: a fusion of art and neuroscience
“A collaboration between director Dan Ghenacia, MuLabs, and Era2140”, shown at the Non Fungible Conference in Lisbon. Ghenacia “partnered with neuroscientist Francisco Teixeira” to study what the piece does to the mind.
A meditative journey with Dan Ghenacia’s Alpha Wave Experience
“We met Francisco Teixeira, who is a neuroscientist in Lisbon” — the artist on how the work, and the Mind Art concept that came out of it, were made.
Have a Good Trip · Sobering Galerie, Paris
The Paris gallery show, extended twice. The Mirror runs sequences “developed with neuroscientist Dr. Teixeira”, and visitors make a work from their own brainwaves.
Des machines à trips psychédéliques dans une galerie du Marais
The same show, reviewed. The frequencies are “orchestrées par Dan Ghenacia et ses acolytes (dont un neuroscientifique)”.
Francisco listed among the nine people behind the piece, with MuArts, the TRANS-LATE festival and MuHealth beside his name. The work has run at Colnaghi in London, the Non Fungible Conference in Lisbon, El Silencio in Ibiza, Sobering Galerie in Paris and, as The Oracle, in Berlin.
#MTFLabs@ZKM · the Synchronica simulator
The museum lists MuArts — Francisco Marques-Teixeira, Horácio Tomé-Marques and Luís Anjos — on Johanna Tano’s team, in a 24-hour intervention where visitors connected their brainwaves to space data.
A MusicBricks award at Music Tech Fest, Sweden
The Blue Vinyl award, €3,000, for FindingSomething SoundingBonding, made in a 24-hour hackathon in Umeå: gesture sensors on one performer, an EEG headset on the other.
Meet Francisco Marques-Teixeira at MTF Stockholm
The festival’s own speaker profile, from the years when the work lived at Music Tech Fest.
Talk #14 — Francisco Marques Teixeira
An early profile of muArts: brain technology meeting concept design, prototyping and performance.
Music Tech Fest Stockholm · AI Performance Lab
“A team of neuroscientists from MuArts in Portugal had been busy creating brain experiments.”
The academic record of Enhancing the Mind’s I (2016), a neurofeedback work projecting memory and self onto surfaces, made with Horácio Tomé Marques and Paulo Bernardino Bastos.
Empresas usam métodos de avaliação “obsoletos”
The earliest national-press interview we have found: Francisco as neuroscientist and clinical director of neurofeedback at Neurobios. About work, not art, but it is where the public trail starts.
Our partner’s account of the collaboration: “Partnering with MuLabs, we used advanced brain-mapping technologies like EEG to track how digital art evokes emotional responses.”
Forty tracks mixed in under forty minutes on four CDJs, played to the visuals inside the Voxel Cube.
The listing for our own festival: talks, interactive installations, performances and generative sets, in one night.
E quando nos tornamos todos Super-Heróis
Francisco on stage, on what happens when the tools that read the brain reach everyone.
The collection itself: works minted from a participant’s own biological signal.
Ask for the piece, not the brochure.
Tell us the room, the night or the programme and we will tell you which of these fits it, what it costs to build and what it costs to run.
